M.G.R. Marine

If you are driving down Mount Road in Guindy, you might pass right by us at 91/50. It’s a busy part of Chennai, and we’ve been part of it for a long time. M.G.R. Marine is basically a small group of us who know a thing or two about the sea and what boats need. We don’t have a glossy brochure or a big sales team. Mostly, it’s just the sound of the traffic outside and the hum of the air conditioner while we look at technical drawings or parts lists. We get all sorts of people coming in, from sailors to supply managers. The office is usually a bit cluttered with marine equipment and manuals that have been around since we opened. We like it that way because it shows we actually do the work. It’s a hot city, so we appreciate the shade our building provides. Sometimes we lose track of time when a difficult order comes in. We don't use much jargon; we just speak plain English and try to solve the problem at hand. Our reputation in the Guindy area is something we care about, mostly because we live around here too. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s ours. We just keep our heads down and make sure the supplies are ready when the ships are in port. That’s about all there is to it.
