Our shop is at No 7 on Cooks Road. It’s right across from the Otteri Police Station, so we are pretty easy to find if you are driving through the Perambur Barracks area. We handle cars all day long, and it gets greasy and a bit crowded with vehicles parked out front. The traffic on Cooks Road can be a real headache in the afternoons, but we manage to get things done. It’s a local business through and through. We don’t have a big glossy showroom or a waiting room with a television. Most of what we do involves looking under hoods and trying to figure out what that weird knocking noise is. The floor is usually stained with oil, and there are tools scattered on the workbenches because we use them constantly. We’ve seen all kinds of cars come through here over the years. Some are falling apart and others are just here for a quick check. Being near the police station means it’s a fairly safe street, but the noise of revving engines is pretty constant. We just show up, do the work, and go home to our families. Sometimes the little tea stall down the road is the highlight of the afternoon. It’s just a regular car place for regular people in the neighborhood. We don't spend much time on the computer; we’d rather be working on an engine with our hands. It's just a job.
