Working out of Guindy Industrial Estate has its own rhythm. Our office is at Plot No. 20 in the North Phase, right there in Ekkaduthangal on the first floor. If you have ever been to this part of Chennai, you know it is mostly about manufacturing and workshops, but we are tucked in here doing our software thing. The building is solid and practical, which suits us just fine. Most mornings start with the sound of the industrial area waking up. We aren't a massive corporation with a glass lobby; we are just a group of people who are good at technical stuff and like to get our work finished on time. The stairs up to the first floor are a bit narrow, but we are used to it. Inside, the AC is usually running full blast to keep the humidity at bay. We spend a lot of time troubleshooting and looking at lines of code. Lunch is usually a quick affair, maybe something from a nearby mess or whatever we brought from home. We know each other's families and what’s going on in the neighborhood. There is no corporate script here. If something breaks, we fix it. If a project is running late, we stay until it is sorted. It is a humble setup, but we have everything we need to keep the wheels turning without any unnecessary drama or complicated management layers that you might find in bigger places.
