Khaja Moideen Leather Company has its roots deep in Periamet. We are located at 23-A, Perianna Maistry Street, which is a place that’s always been about leather. If you walk down our street, you’ll see plenty of other shops doing similar things, but we’ve got our own way of working. Our space is more of a workshop and storage area than a proper office. There are stacks of hides everywhere and the tools we use for checking the quality of the leather. It’s a very physical environment. We spend our days moving heavy rolls of material and making sure everything is stored in the right conditions. We don’t have a marketing department or a sales team; we just have our reputation and the people who have been buying from us for decades. It’s a family-run feeling, even for the staff who aren't family. We know our regulars by name and we know exactly what kind of leather they are looking for when they walk through the door. The building is old and the floors are a bit uneven, but it’s got a lot of character. We don't use any fancy software to keep track of things; it's mostly notebooks and ledger entries. It’s a traditional way of doing business that still works fine for us. We just focus on the leather and the people we sell it to.
