Jk Technowiz is situated over at MIG 93 on the Tamil University Campus in Pillayarpatti. It’s an interesting spot to have an office, being so close to the university. You get a lot of people walking by and there’s a good sense of being part of something bigger. Our office is fairly straightforward. We don’t have any of those modern open-plan designs or fancy lounge areas. It’s just a place to work. We’ve got our desks lined up and we spend most of our time there. Pillayarpatti is a nice place to be based; it has its own pace. We started this company because we had some ideas we wanted to try out and needed a space to do it. It’s been a learning process for all of us. Some days things go smoothly, and other days we’re scratching our heads over some technical glitch for hours. We don’t mind though, because we enjoy the challenge. It’s just a few of us here, so everyone ends up doing a bit of everything, whether it’s technical work or just tidying up the office. We try to keep things relaxed. No one wears a tie here. We just want to do a decent job and keep the business going. Being near the campus gives us a nice environment to work in every day, even when the work itself gets a bit stressful and the hours get long.
