Jeyanthi Rubber Works

You can find Jeyanthi Rubber Works at Plot No.13-A on Kamarajar Salai in the Kodungaiyur area. It’s a lively part of town with a lot of noise and movement. Our shop isn't anything special to look at from the street, but we stay busy enough. We have a small radio that plays local stations all day long. It helps drown out the sound of the heavy traffic on Kamarajar Salai. Kodungaiyur is a tough place to work sometimes because of the intense heat, but we have a few old fans that do their best. Our tools aren't the newest models, but they are sturdy and we know how to fix them if they break. We don't have a website or a marketing department. If you need us, you just come to the plot and shout for someone. It’s how we’ve always done things. The floor is usually covered in rubber scraps, but we sweep it up at the end of every shift. We aren't a big corporation with different departments; everyone here does a bit of everything. One minute you're answering the phone and the next you're helping with a mold. It's a very hands-on environment. We value the fact that we can fix things for people. It’s a practical trade that keeps us busy and pays the bills, and we plan to keep it that way for a long time.
