You will find us out at the 32nd Km Stone on the G.T. Karnal Road in Kundli. H.L. Textiles Ltd. is a pretty big operation compared to some of the smaller workshops nearby. The first thing you notice when you walk inside is the constant noise of the machines. It is a steady rhythm that you eventually stop noticing after you have been here for an hour. We work with many different types of fabrics. There is always lint and little bits of thread floating in the air, no matter how much we try to clean the floors. The G.T. Karnal Road location is good for moving our goods out on trucks, but the traffic can be a real headache in the mornings. Some of our workers have been with us since we first opened the gates. We aren't trying to be fancy or modern. We just produce the material and get it onto the lorries. The office is just a small partitioned area in the corner of the main factory floor so we can keep an eye on the production. It gets very hot in the summer because the roof is made of metal, but we have big industrial fans going. We don't really do much advertising. Most of our work comes from long-standing contracts we have had for years. It is just about keeping the looms running and making sure the colors turn out right. It is regular work.
