Global Exports & Imports

Regency House is one of those buildings that has seen better days, but it’s still standing strong on Anna Salai. Our office is on the fourth floor, right at the end of the hallway. The elevator is a bit slow and makes a weird grinding noise, so most of us just take the stairs if we aren't carrying anything heavy. Being at Old No. 250 means we are right in the middle of all the noise from the main road. You can hear the buses honking all day long, even with the windows shut tight. Global Exports & Imports is mostly just us sitting at desks with files piled up high. We deal with a lot of papers and phone calls. Sometimes the air conditioner leaks a bit of water on the floor, so we keep a small bucket there. It’s a lived-in space with some old calendars on the wall and chairs that squeak when you sit down. The fourth floor gives us a decent view of the traffic below, which is actually quite relaxing when you need a break. We’ve been at this spot for a while now and know all the other tenants in the building. It’s not a corporate glass tower, but it’s where we get our work done every day. We usually grab lunch from the small stalls downstairs. There is a small canteen on the roof but it’s mostly just for coffee and snacks. We usually go to the nearby park for some fresh air when the office feels too small. It’s just a regular office life in Chennai.
