You can find us at Gl Construction Chemicals on the first floor of 45/3 along Jawaharlal Nehru Road. Being in Ekkaduthangal means we are right in the middle of a lot of noise and traffic. Our office isn't very large and it’s usually piled up with containers of liquid chemicals and stacks of brochures that we give to contractors. Because we are on the first floor, we have to carry everything up and down the stairs, which can be a bit of a workout. We spend most of the day answering the phone and talking to people about things like leaks in their roofs or cracks in their walls. It’s not a very glamorous job, mostly just looking at technical sheets and explaining how to mix the different resins. The floor is made of old linoleum that’s starting to peel at the corners. We have a small window that looks out over the road, but the glass is usually too dirty to see much. Sometimes the tea man comes by in the afternoon and that’s the highlight of our day. We don't have any fancy marketing people, just a couple of us who know a bit about building materials. It gets stuffy in here when the fan isn't working right, but we manage. We just try to provide the right chemicals for the jobs people are working on around Ekkaduthangal and the rest of the city without any extra fuss.
