We operate out of No. 45 A Vetri Nagar, right along the Canal Road in Kolathur. The location is pretty easy to find if you are driving along the canal. It’s a busy stretch of road, especially during the morning rush. Inside our building, things are usually kept quite cool because of the types of chemicals we handle. We spend a lot of time checking labels and making sure the drums are sealed tight. It’s not the most exciting work, but it has to be done right every single day. The floor is concrete and we try to keep it clean, though spills happen sometimes and we have to scrub them out immediately. Our team is small, just a few people who have been working with these materials for a long time. We know the smell of every product we carry. On hot days, the Canal Road can get a bit humid, but we just keep the fans going and get on with the orders. We have a small office area near the front where we keep the ledgers and the phone. Most of our day is spent out in the storage area though. We get a lot of local contractors stopping by since Kolathur is growing so fast. There are always new buildings going up nearby, so there is usually someone looking for a specific drum or bucket of something. We just grab what’s needed from the rack and load it up onto their vehicles.
