Gajananya Silk Fabrics

Our shop, Gajananya Silk Fabrics, is tucked away in S.G. Palya, right on the 3rd Cross at 41/4. If you know the area, it's pretty busy during the day. We have stacks of fabric everywhere you look. It's not the kind of place where everything is perfectly organized on glass shelves, but we know where everything is. The colors are the first thing people notice when they walk in. We spend a lot of time unrolling bolts of silk and showing the patterns to whoever walks through the door. Sometimes the light isn't great in the back corner, so we have to bring the cloth out to the front to see the true shade. It’s a bit of a family vibe here, even for the people who aren't related. We drink a lot of tea while we work. The sound of the street outside is always there, horns honking and people talking, but inside it’s mostly the sound of scissors or the rustle of fabric. We’ve been here for a good while now, and the neighbors all know us. It’s a lot of folding and re-folding, keeping the dust off the good stuff. Some days are slow and we just sit and talk, other days it’s a rush to get orders ready. We don't have a big sign or anything too flashy, just the name on the door and the work we do every day. It is just a regular shop where things get done.
