Enmach

Enmach is at New No. 116, which used to be Old No. 81. We’ve been at this location for a long time, so people still use the old number when they give directions. It’s a bit of a confusing address if you aren't from around here. Our shop is mostly about machinery and parts. There is always a faint smell of oil and metal in the air, which I guess is standard for this kind of work. We have a lot of heavy tools and spare parts sitting on metal shelves that have seen better days. The floor is concrete and has a few stains from over the years. We don’t really have a reception area; if you walk in, you’re basically in the middle of the workspace. We started this because we liked fixing things and understanding how machines run. It’s not a clean job, and our hands are usually a bit dirty by the end of the shift. We have a small table in the corner where we eat lunch and talk about nothing in particular. The neighborhood has changed around us, but we’ve stayed pretty much the same. We don’t have a website or a marketing person. Most of our work comes from people who have been coming to us for a decade. It’s a steady pace. We just focus on the machines and making sure things are bolted down right. That’s all there is to it.
