Dharmsee Parpia

Our place is called Al Hamra, located at 11, Kothari Road in Nungambakkam. It’s a nice enough area, though the traffic has become a real nightmare lately. We’ve been in this building for quite a while, and it feels like home to most of us. Inside, it's mostly desks and old filing cabinets filled with years of records. We don't have any of those modern open-plan offices with bean bags. It’s just a regular workplace where we handle our business affairs. Most of the day is spent on the computer or talking to people over the phone. We take our breaks in the small kitchen area or sometimes walk down the road to get some fresh air if it isn't too humid. We aren't the type of people to use big words to describe what we do. We just facilitate trades and make sure the logistics are handled properly for our clients. The office is quiet for the most part, except for the sound of the air conditioner humming in the corner. We have a few plants that we sometimes forget to water, but they seem to survive anyway. It’s a steady environment and we’ve all worked together for years, so we know each other's habits. We don't have a mission statement on the wall or anything like that. We just come in, do our bits, and go home to our families. It is a quiet, decent way to earn a living.
