Dharani International Sourcing & Trading

Our business, Dharani International Sourcing & Trading, is over at 57, Sterling Road in the Nungambakkam area. It’s a pretty central spot, which helps when we have to meet people or get things delivered. Sourcing is basically a lot of searching and comparing. We spend our days trying to find the right products for the right price for our clients. It involves a lot of phone calls to manufacturers and checking samples that come in the mail. Our office at number 57 is usually cluttered with boxes of various items we’re looking at. We aren't very big on fancy décor; we just need enough space for our desks and the samples. Trading can be a bit of a headache when prices jump around or shipping gets delayed, but we just deal with it as it happens. We’ve been in Nungambakkam for a while and we’ve gotten to know the local rhythm. We usually grab lunch at one of the small places nearby and then get back to the emails. It’s a lot of coordination, making sure the person who wants something connects with the person who makes it. We don't have a big marketing department or anything. It's just us answering the phones and keeping the records straight. We try to be practical about how we work and not overcomplicate the process of moving goods. It is a busy life on Sterling Road, and we are just glad to be a part of it.
