We are located at No. 1 and 2 in Arumugam Nagar, which is part of Chinna Porur. It’s a quiet enough street compared to the main roads around Chennai. We’ve got two units here. One is mostly for the office stuff and the other is where we keep the stock. Dealing with chemicals and sticks—well, the name gives it away—means we have to be pretty careful about how we store things. The fans stay on all day because it gets quite humid in this part of town. We don't have any fancy signage or a big glass front. It’s just a gate and some heavy doors. Most of our morning is spent checking the inventory and talking to the drivers who come to pick up loads. It’s a lot of lifting and moving boxes around. My shirt is usually a bit messy by noon. We don’t really do much in terms of marketing. People usually find us because they need something specific and they heard we had it in stock. We take our tea breaks under the shade of the tree outside when the sun is too much. It’s a simple operation. No big speeches or complicated rules, just making sure the orders are packed right and sent out to the people who need them. Chinna Porur is a good place to be, close enough to the city but still manageable.
