Bharat Engineering Construction Co. Pvt. Ltd.

We spend most of our days up on the 6th floor of Jhaver Plaza. It’s right in Nungambakkam, so getting here in the morning is always a bit of a challenge with the traffic. Bharat Engineering Construction Co. Pvt. Ltd. has been around for a while now. We mostly handle building stuff, figuring out how things fit together on-site. There are a handful of us in the office, and the rest are usually out where the actual work happens. The lift in this building is sometimes slow, but the view from the window isn't too bad. We deal with blueprints, concrete, and a lot of paperwork that seems to pile up on the desks no matter how much we try to clear it. It gets loud sometimes when everyone is on the phone at once. We don't really have a fancy reception area or anything. It's just desks, computers, and a lot of old files in the cabinets. Sometimes we order tea from the shop downstairs when the afternoon slump hits. The projects keep us busy, and there’s always something that needs fixing or a permit that needs following up on. We’ve seen the area change quite a bit since we started. Most days are just about getting through the to-do list and making sure the sites have what they need to keep moving. It’s not always pretty, but we get the job done and go home.
