Bakers Shop

Finding us can be a little confusing because the address says Old No 16 and New No 11. Most people just look for the smell of bread to find where we are. We have been running Bakers Shop from this spot for a long time. The building is old, but it works for what we need. We start early, usually while most people are still sleeping. The ovens take a while to get to the right temperature. We do not do those fancy cakes you see on TV. We just make bread, buns, and some simple biscuits. It is a messy job with flour getting everywhere. Even the cracks in the floor have flour in them. We have a small counter where we put out what we baked that morning. When it is gone, it is gone. Some days we sell out fast, other days we have leftovers to take home. We do not use any complicated machines. It is mostly hands and a couple of old mixers that have seen better days. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we would rather spend the money on better flour. It is just a few of us here. We know the regulars by name and what they usually want. It is a quiet life, mostly. If you come by in the morning, the air is thick with the smell of yeast. It is the kind of place where you can just grab a loaf and go.
