Eldams Road is always jammed with cars near that State Bank of Travancore. Our shop at No 35 A/1 is where we keep all the wood samples and those big catalogs that are getting dusty on the shelves. It’s not a quiet place because of the traffic outside, but we like it here in Teynampet. We spend a lot of time drawing on big sheets of paper and arguing about where a cupboard should go. It’s mostly just a few of us trying to make sense of what people want for their homes. Sometimes it's a mess with sawdust everywhere if we're making a prototype, and other times it's just us drinking tea and looking at floor plans. We’ve been at this address for a good bit now. We don't do all those fancy presentations like the big firms in the malls do. We just sit down with a pencil and show you what can be done. It’s a bit old school, I guess. The light in the office is a bit dim in the evenings, but it works for us. We know the tea guy down the street and the bank folks next door. It’s a local life. We just want to finish the work so we can go home and not think about plywood for a few hours. That’s pretty much how it goes every day at Annai Interior Designers. It's busy, it's Chennai, and it's what we do.
