Academy Of Modern Dance

Academy Of Modern Dance is our little spot over at No 74 Russian Cultural Centre. We’re on Kasthuri Rangan Road, tucked right behind the Chola Sheraton in Alwarpet. It is not some fancy high-tech facility, just a regular studio where we do our thing. Most days, you can hear music coming through the walls and see people coming in after work or school to get their steps in. The floor has some scuffs on it, but that just shows how much it gets used. Being in the Russian Cultural Centre means we have some history around us, which is nice. Finding us is easy if you know where the Sheraton is, though the traffic on Kasthuri Rangan Road can be a bit much during the evenings. We’ve been here for a while now, and the place has a certain feel to it that you don’t get in those brand-new gyms. It is just a space for dance, really. There are mirrors, some old chairs for waiting, and plenty of water bottles lying around. We don’t have a big marketing team or anything like that. It’s mostly just us keeping the lights on and making sure the music player works. If you walk behind the hotel and see people looking a bit tired but happy, you probably found the right door. It’s a simple setup but it works for what we need to do every day.
