Mathan Kumar

I am Mathan Kumar and I run things from here at 27, Pillayar Koil Street in Sathanoor Village. It is a quiet place in Madurantakam, Tamil Nadu. Most people around here know me because I’ve been around for quite a while now. The shop isn't anything big or flashy. It is just a small room where I sit and get things done every day. Sometimes it gets really hot in the afternoons, but that is just how it is in this part of the country. I try to stay busy and help whoever walks through the door. My family has been in this area for a long time, so we have deep roots in the village. It is nice being close to the temple since that is where everyone gathers. I started this because I wanted to work for myself and not have to travel far into the city. Madurantakam is far enough from the main rush, but close enough if we need something special. People stop by to chat or ask for advice, and I like that part of the job. It isn't always easy keeping things running with the power cuts and the dust, but we manage. I don’t have a big team or anything, just me and occasionally someone to help with the heavy lifting. The village life is slow, but that is how we like it. I don’t think I could ever move to a big city now.
