Annai Refractories & Engineers

You can find us over near the Tolegate on the main road to Chennai. We are at Koothur, right at number 1. Annai Refractories & Engineers has been here for a while, dealing with bricks and various materials. It’s a loud spot because of all the trucks passing by on the highway. We spend our time in the yard, mostly surrounded by stacks of firebricks and other stuff. It’s hot work, especially with the sun beating down on the concrete. We aren't the kind of place with a fancy lobby. You just walk in and you'll see us working with the stock. It’s a bit messy and there’s always some dust flying around when we move things. We have a few guys who handle the heavy lifting. We don't do much marketing, people just know we are here by the road. Sometimes we sit and have tea while waiting for a customer to show up. It’s a straightforward business. We provide what people need for their furnaces or building projects and that’s it. No big speeches or complicated processes. Just a lot of loading, unloading, and keeping track of the inventory. It’s a busy life being so close to the main road, but we’re used to it by now. We just watch the traffic go by and wait for the next delivery truck to pull in.
