V L Granites

Our yard is located at 592 in Bandikodigehalli. It’s a big open space where we keep the granite slabs. If you come by, you’ll see stacks of stone everywhere. It’s a very physical environment. There’s always the sound of a crane moving or someone cutting stone in the background. The ground is dusty and it gets muddy when it rains. We don't have a formal office with air conditioning. We just have a small cabin where we keep the records and answer the phone. Working with granite is tough. The slabs are heavy and you have to be careful not to chip the corners. We spend our time showing people the different colors and patterns in the stone. Some pieces are plain and others have a lot of veins in them. We don't try to oversell anything. We just tell you what we have in the yard. Most of our days are spent loading trucks and checking the inventory. It’s a bit out of the way, so it’s usually quiet except for the work noise. We’ve been at this location for a while and we know the locals. The staff is just a few guys who know how to handle the heavy lifting. It’s an honest, gritty kind of business. We wear boots and old clothes because everything gets covered in stone dust within an hour of starting work.
