Gujarat Ambuja Cements Ltd.

We are over here at Gujarat Ambuja Cements Ltd in the Maratha Cement Works Colony. Specifically, we are in quarter L-205 in the area called Upparwahi, which is part of Tah Korpana in the Chandrapur district of Maharashtra. It’s a bit of a drive to get out here, but this is where the work happens. The colony is pretty quiet most of the time, just a lot of houses for the people who work at the plant. It gets incredibly hot in this part of Maharashtra, especially during May and June, so we spend a lot of time just trying to stay cool while we get our paperwork done. The office isn't anything fancy, just a regular room with some desks, old files, and a few computers that have seen better days. We handle the local coordination and some of the administrative stuff that keeps the cement works moving along. You can usually hear the hum of the machinery in the distance if the wind is blowing the right way. We’ve got a small kitchen area where we make tea a few times a day to keep us going. The road outside is paved but gets a lot of heavy truck traffic, so there is always a layer of dust on everything. We don't really do much in the way of big meetings or presentations here. It is mostly just about making sure the daily numbers are right and that people have what they need to do their jobs. It’s a simple life in the colony.
