Chawhan Bricks Industrial

Our workshop, Chawhan Bricks Industrial, is located at Plot No. 5 in the Chanda Co-Operative Industrial Estate. Being on Mul Road in Chandrapur means we are right in the middle of all the industrial action. It’s a loud area with a lot of heavy vehicles and other businesses around us. We’ve been operating from this plot for a while, and the routine hasn't changed much. We start early to beat the Chandrapur heat as much as we can. The ground is often covered in coal dust or clay depending on what’s happening that day. We don’t have any polished sales pitch. If someone needs bricks for a factory wall or a house nearby, they just come into the estate and find us. We talk through the gate or in the small shed we use as an office. The industrial estate has its own rhythm, and we are just a small part of it. We deal with the same drivers and the same suppliers week after week. It’s not a glamorous job, and our clothes are usually dirty by nine in the morning, but it's what we know how to do. We make sure the batches are consistent and that the trucks get out on time so they don't block the narrow roads in the estate. It's a lot of coordination and hard work in a very hot part of the country, but we get it done daily.
