A.R. Bricks

A.R. Bricks is located in Gundakhada Village. That is over in the Bhadravati Tehsil area. It is a rural spot, mostly fields and small dirt roads around here. We have been making bricks in this district for quite a few years now. It is a small team of us working the ground and tending to the ovens. The weather dictates a lot of what we do. If it rains, we have to cover everything up with plastic and wait it out. If it is hot, we work early in the morning before the sun gets too high in the sky. We don't have a big corporate structure or anything like that. It is just a local business where we know everyone’s name and talk over tea. Sometimes the logistics of getting things delivered from Gundakhada can be a bit of a headache because the roads are narrow, but we manage to get it done. We aren't trying to be the biggest company out there. We just want to make sure the bricks we produce are solid enough for the local houses being built nearby. Most of our customers are just people from the neighboring villages or small contractors we have known for a decade. It is a lot of physical labor and at the end of the day, we are all pretty tired. But that is the life we chose out here in Bhadravati. It is honest work and it keeps the lights on.
