Yaka International

We are located at Shed No. B-69 (A) in the 2nd Stage of the Peenya Industrial Estate. It is a bit of a maze here, especially if you are coming for the first time. The shed is made of corrugated metal and it gets quite loud when the neighbors are running their heavy presses. We have been here for a few years now, mostly handling international trade and shipping parts. The office part is just a small corner with a couple of wooden desks and some old filing cabinets that don't always close right. I usually start the day by sweeping the front area because the industrial dust settles overnight. We have a small kettle for making tea, though the water takes a long time to boil. It is a simple operation, nothing like those big corporate offices in the city center. We don't have any fancy mission statements or anything like that. We just try to get the orders packed and sent out before the transport company arrives in the evening. Sometimes the rain is so heavy on the metal roof that we can't even hear the phone ringing. We have to shout to talk to each other. It is just part of being in Peenya. Most of our furniture was bought second-hand from a closing factory down the street. It is sturdy enough for what we need. We are just regular people doing our jobs and trying to keep the business going.
