Shakeel Salon & Academy

Our place is at SCF Number 43/5 in Sector 18D. It is really close to Tagore Theatre, which is a big landmark here in Chandigarh. We have the salon side where people come for their hair, and then we also have the academy part where we teach. It keeps the days very full. Usually, I am busy balancing the two things. In the morning, I might be showing someone how to hold the shears properly, and then in the afternoon, I am back to cutting hair for the regulars. Sector 18 is a nice area. It has a specific feel to it, maybe because of the theatre and the creative people who hang around there. The shop is big enough for a few chairs and some space for the students to watch and learn. It gets a bit noisy sometimes when everyone is talking at once. I try to keep things organized but it is a working shop, so there is always some hair on the floor or a towel that needs folding. We don't spend a lot of time on fancy decorations or anything like that. The focus is just on the work. People come to us because they know we have been doing this for a long time. It is not about being flashy. It is just Shakeel Salon & Academy, doing what we know how to do right here in the heart of Sector 18.
