We’ve been here in Sector 19 on the main road for a while now. The shop is at 21/22 and most days it’s just the usual stuff. We open up early, get the shutters up, and try to organize the things on the shelves before people start coming in. It gets pretty dusty out there on the main road with all the cars and buses going by. Sometimes the traffic is so loud we have to shout a bit to hear each other. We’ve got a small fan in the corner that rattles when it’s on high, but it helps. There’s a tea stall just down the street where we get our morning chai. Satya Ent isn’t a huge place but it works for what we do. We spend a lot of time just sorting through boxes and making sure everything is where it should be. The back room is a bit of a mess right now because we got a big delivery last Tuesday. People from the neighborhood stop by, some just to say hello while they’re walking to the market. The floor needs a good sweep every couple of hours. It’s a simple life here. We don’t have fancy air conditioning or anything, just the open door and the street noise. It’s what we’re used to after all these years. Usually, things quiet down after seven. That’s when we start thinking about heading home.
