We are located in Sector 17, right in the heart of the city in Sec 17 B. It’s a prime spot, but our actual workspace is pretty utilitarian. We deal with a lot of wires, control panels, and electrical components. The shelves are lined with boxes of switches and breakers that we’ve organized over the years. It’s a lot of technical work, but we talk about it in plain terms. Most of the day is spent testing circuits or looking at diagrams spread out on the main table. The lighting inside is bright so we can see what we are doing with the small parts. We don't have a fancy lobby or a receptionist greeting people. Usually, you just walk in and one of us will look up from whatever we are wiring. Sector 17 is always buzzing with people, so we hear the noise from the street all day long. We take our breaks at the small park nearby when the weather is nice. The work requires a lot of patience and steady hands. Sometimes a project takes longer than expected because of a tricky connection or a faulty component. We don’t use a lot of big words to describe what we do. It’s just about making sure the systems work the way they are supposed to. We finish up in the evening, lock the heavy metal shutters, and head home like everyone else in the block.
