Our office is in Sector 38 C, tucked away in SCO 171. It is a place filled with stacks of paper, old filing cabinets, and the sound of keyboards tapping away for hours. We’ve been operating out of this spot for a good amount of time now, and the walls have that slightly yellowed look that comes with age. There isn't anything fancy about the way we work. We show up, sit at the desks, and handle whatever paperwork comes across the table that day. The windows look out onto the street, where you can see people going about their business and the occasional stray dog sleeping in the shade. It gets a bit cold in the winter because the old door has a bit of a gap at the bottom, so we usually have a small heater running near our feet. We drink a lot of tea to stay awake during the slow afternoons when the sun makes everyone feel a bit sleepy. Most of our furniture is mismatched, things we’ve picked up over the years as we needed them. It’s a quiet kind of place compared to the busier market areas, which is nice if you need to focus on numbers or long documents. Sometimes the power goes out and we just have to sit and talk until it comes back on. That’s just the rhythm of life here in Sector 38, nothing more and nothing less.
