Garg waste Paper Store is located at Booth No 108 in Sector 24D. Our business is pretty straightforward. We take in old newspapers, used cardboard, and all types of scrap paper that people want to get rid of. Because the booth is quite small, we end up stacking a lot of the material out in the back area. It is a very dusty job and there is no point in wearing nice clothes to work. I have a large manual scale that we use to weigh everything that comes in. People bring in their bundles tied with old string and we pay them based on the weight. I have been at this spot for many years and you would be surprised at the interesting things people throw away, like old magazines from the seventies or school books. I try to keep the cardboard separated from the white paper, but it often ends up in a big pile during the busy hours. The wind is my biggest enemy because it blows the loose papers all over the street and I have to go chase them. It is a quiet life for the most part. I know all the people who live in the neighborhood and we usually chat about the local news while I am tying up the bales with wire. It is not a fancy career, but it is what I know.
