Next Generation Computers

We are up on the 8th floor of the Bestech Business Tower in Sector 66. Being that high up means we get a decent view, but mostly we are just looking at computer screens all day. Next Generation Computers is a bit of a misleading name because sometimes it feels like we are dealing with very old stuff people want to keep running. The office is tucked away in unit A-819. Some mornings the lift takes forever to arrive, which is a bit of a pain when you are carrying a heavy desktop tower. Inside, it's mostly desks and a lot of tangled wires under the tables. We try to keep it neat, but when three or four repairs are happening at once, stuff just piles up. I usually have a half-finished cup of coffee sitting somewhere near my keyboard. We don't have fancy leather chairs or a big sign in the lobby. People just find us because they heard we can fix things. Sector 66 is growing fast, so there is always construction noise in the distance. It can get a bit stuffy in the afternoons when the sun hits the windows, but we just turn the fan up. We handle a lot of software issues and hardware swaps throughout the day. It’s a lot of sitting and clicking, but it’s what we do. We aren't trying to be the biggest company around, just trying to finish the work on our desks and get home.
