Our service spot is located at 261 C in Sector 51 A. It is a fairly quiet part of Chandigarh compared to the main shopping markets. We handle things for Dell International Services here. It is mostly service-related work, so we get a lot of people bringing in laptops that will not turn on or have cracked screens. It can get a bit hectic on Monday mornings when everyone realizes their computer is broken. The office is very functional. We have a few benches for people to wait on and a simple counter where we take in the hardware. It is definitely not a fancy showroom. It is a place where things get repaired. We spend a lot of our time on the phone with parts suppliers. Sometimes the specific parts we need take a few days to arrive and we have to explain that to customers who are in a big hurry. We try to be clear about how long the repairs will take. Sector 51 A is a decent neighborhood and easy enough to find if you know the sector layout. We do not have a huge team, just enough people to manage the daily workload. Most of us have been working with computer hardware for a long time. We know our way around a motherboard. We do not put on any airs. If a laptop is too old to bother fixing, we just say so. It is about getting machines back to people.
