Chaurasia Pan Bhandar

Our little shop, Chaurasia Pan Bhandar, is located at Manimajra S 573. It is a very small space, but we make it work for what we need. Most people in this part of town know where we are because we have been here for such a long time now. Most of my day is spent sitting behind the wooden counter, preparing the leaves and mixing the ingredients for the orders. It is a repetitive kind of job, but I find it relaxing to do while I watch the world go by. The street outside S 573 is always moving, with people walking to the nearby market or trying to catch their buses. We have all the basic stuff you would expect to find at a local pan shop. I don't have any fancy glass displays or bright neon lights to bring people in. It is just a simple counter and some old jars sitting on the shelves. Sometimes the neighbors come by just to talk for a half hour while I am working on my tasks. I know everyone’s preferences—who likes it sweet and who wants something a bit stronger. Manimajra is a busy place, so there is never really a dull moment for us. The shop doesn't look like much from the street, but it feels like home to me. I start early and stay open until late.
