Chandigarh Bearings

Chandigarh Bearings is located at number 41 in Sector 28, right across from the dispensary. It’s a handy landmark because everyone knows where the dispensary is. The shop is basically a warehouse filled with thousands of small boxes. We sell all kinds of bearings, and they are stacked on shelves that go way back into the shadows of the building. It’s a bit of a maze back there, and I’m probably the only one who knows where every single size is kept. The counter at the front is made of old wood and has scratches from years of metal parts being dragged across it. Most of our customers are mechanics or people trying to fix their own machines, so they usually have grease on their hands when they come in. We get a lot of walk-ins who aren't even sure what they need, so we spend time measuring things and looking through old catalogs. It’s a dusty job, and the smell of machine oil is everywhere. We don't do any big advertising; people just know we are here because we’ve been here so long. When it’s quiet, we just sit near the entrance and watch the people going in and out of the dispensary. It’s a slow pace of life most days, but it picks up when the local factories need something urgently. We just keep the shelves stocked and wait for the next person to walk through the door.
