Nisha Engineering Works

If you know the Chakan Talegaon Road, you know it’s one of the busiest industrial stretches around. Nisha Engineering Works is located at Gat No 217 in Mahalunge Chakan. We are right near the Amcor Flexible plant, which is a massive place that everyone uses for directions. Our workshop is much smaller, of course. We do engineering work, which involves a lot of welding, cutting, and shaping of metal. Chakan is a dusty place because of all the construction and the heavy trucks constantly rumbling past our gates. Inside our gate, it’s all about the machines. We have lathes and milling machines that have seen a lot of use over the years. The floor is stained with oil and there are always metal scraps waiting to be cleared away. It’s hard, physical work and it gets very hot under the tin roof during the summer months. We don't have an office with air conditioning or anything like that. We just have a small desk in the corner where we keep our registers and drawings. Most of the guys here have been working with metal for their whole lives and they know how to handle the tools. We don't spend money on marketing or fancy websites. People find us because they need something fabricated or repaired, and they know we are here on the main road. It’s a tough environment but we are used to the noise and the grit of Mahalunge.
