Down at 38/2063 on Hari Singh Nalwa Street, you'll find Raj Auto Center. We handle a lot of bike repairs and sell spare parts. Karol Bagh is famous for this kind of work, so we have plenty of competition around us. The floor is usually covered in a bit of oil, no matter how much we sweep. We have tools hanging on the walls and bins full of bolts and nuts. People bring in their motorcycles for everything from a simple oil change to a full engine strip-down. It gets loud when we’re testing a motor. We don't have a waiting room with AC. Customers usually just stand around and chat or go grab a snack while we work. My hands are usually stained black from the grease. It doesn't come off easy. We have a small wooden desk where we keep the cash and the diary. We write down every job there. Sometimes we get rare parts for older bikes that are hard to find elsewhere. It takes time to hunt them down. We stay open late most days because people stop by after work. It’s a tired kind of feeling at the end of the day, but it’s good. Sometimes the shop across the street plays loud music and we have to shout a bit to be heard. It's just the way life goes here in the market. We wouldn't want to be anywhere else.
