Our office is on Aakanksha Bhagwan Das Lane, right near Mandi House. It’s a great part of New Delhi with all the theaters and cultural stuff nearby. The building itself is a bit older and has that solid, heavy feel to it. We are usually busy with various administrative tasks related to planning and development. There’s always a lot of paper moving across our desks. We don't have fancy decorations or modern art on the walls. It’s mostly just calendars and maps. The staff here has been together for a long time, so we know each other's habits well. We take our lunch breaks together when we can. The noise from the main road doesn't really reach us back here, so it’s a good place to concentrate. We spend a lot of time on the phone or in small meetings. It’s not an exciting job in the traditional sense, but it’s steady work. We just try to stay on top of the files and make sure nothing gets lost in the shuffle. Sometimes we have to stay late to finish a report for the higher-ups. It’s just part of the deal. We like the neighborhood and the fact that we can walk to the metro easily. It’s a practical place to work and we just keep at it day after day. It's just a group of regular people doing their jobs in a quiet corner of the city.
