Inder Mohan Ahuja

My place of work is at 11 Anand Parbat Gali No 4. It is just a small shop, and I have my name Inder Mohan Ahuja on the front. I have been in this same spot for decades now. I mostly deal with hardware and small spare parts for machines. The shop is quite narrow, so I have to keep everything very close together. I spend most of my day sitting at my old desk near the entrance. I know where every single item is kept, even if it looks like a mess to someone else. I don't use any of those new computer systems for my inventory. I just remember what I have and what I need to order. The street outside is always full of life and noise. People are constantly walking by or pushing carts full of metal. I have a lot of regular customers who stop by just to say hello and have a cup of chai. We talk about the old days in Delhi and how much everything has changed. I don't do any advertising. My reputation in the gali is enough to keep people coming back. I usually close for an hour in the afternoon to eat my lunch and rest my eyes. It is a slow and steady way of living, and I am quite content with it. The wooden shelves are old, but they hold everything I need.
