Icar

Our office for Icar is tucked away in the scientist apartments at Iari in New Delhi. Specifically, we are at 11 B with Dr K K Kaushal. Being in this part of Delhi makes for a much quieter workday than if we were right in the middle of a commercial hub. The apartments are surrounded by a bit of greenery which is nice when you need a break from looking at a computer screen. We have been here for a while and the routine is pretty much the same every day. We start early before the Delhi heat really kicks in and try to get through the bulk of our administrative tasks. There are usually stacks of papers and journals sitting around because of the nature of the work done in this scientific community. It is a small space, so things can get a bit cluttered, but we know where everything is. We don't really have a big staff, just a few of us making sure things run like they are supposed to. Sometimes the internet is slow or the power flickers, but that is just part of living and working in the city. We do not spend much time on fancy decorations or trying to impress anyone who walks in. It is just a practical place for practical work. Most days are just about staying on top of the schedule and making sure we do not fall behind on the research and coordination that keeps us going.
