H N Engineering Works

H N Engineering Works is tucked into a corner of Gali No 11 over at R-12/A in Anand Parbat. It’s not the easiest place to find if you aren't looking for it. The shop is filled with the sound of metal hitting metal most of the day. We have some old lathes and a few welding sets that have seen a lot of use over the years. The floor is usually covered in metal shavings and oil spills, which we try to sweep up every Saturday afternoon. It’s just how an engineering workshop is supposed to look, I think. We don’t have an office with air conditioning or soft chairs. Usually, we just sit on wooden stools when we take a break for lunch. The neighborhood is full of other small shops like ours, so there is always a lot of shouting and the sound of engines in the background. We have a couple of workers who have been here for years and they know exactly how to fix the machines when they act up. It’s a lot of hard work at R-12/A, but it keeps the lights on. We handle whatever comes through the door, whether it’s a small part that needs turning or a big piece of steel that needs cutting. H N Engineering Works isn't a big corporation. We are just local people doing our bit in Anand Parbat and making sure things get fixed right.
