Our office is located at J 14 in West Patel Nagar, which is a pretty busy part of New Delhi. We’ve been operating from here for a while, focusing on information research. It’s basically a lot of digging through data and finding facts that people need. We aren’t some big corporate firm with a thousand employees; it’s a smaller group of us sitting at desks, surrounded by computers and old notebooks. The street outside can get quite loud during rush hour, but once you’re inside, it’s mostly just the clicking of keyboards. We spend a lot of time on the phone or looking things up online. Research is a bit of a slow process sometimes, but we don’t mind the quiet work. The office feels more like a home than a workspace since it’s in a residential block. We know the neighbors, and the local chai stall knows exactly how we like our tea. We don’t have a fancy mission statement or a polished reception desk. Instead, we have stacks of papers and people who actually know how to find what they’re looking for. It gets a bit crowded when we have a big project going on, but we manage to stay organized enough to get the job done. If you walk past the building, you might not even realize there’s a research team working away inside, which is just the way we like it. We focus on the data and keep the distractions to a minimum.
