Computer Doctors

If you know Karol Bagh, you know how Pyare Lal Road gets during the day. Our place at 14-B/38 is right in the middle of all that noise and movement. Computer Doctors isn't a hospital, obviously, but we spend most of our time trying to revive things that people thought were dead for good. Usually, it’s a coffee spill on a keyboard or someone who dropped their hard drive while moving house. The air inside always smells a bit like dust and heated plastic because we always have a few machines running for testing on the back shelf. It’s a small space, so you have to watch your step around the towers waiting for pickup. Dev Nagr is a lively area, and we have regulars who just stop by to chat while we’re working on a power supply or cleaning out a fan. Sometimes the parts take a few days to arrive, and we just have to tell people to be patient, which isn't always easy. We don't have a big front desk or anything like that. It's just a couple of workbenches and a lot of screwdrivers. I’ve been working on these things for years, and every day there’s something new that breaks in a way I haven’t seen before. It keeps the job interesting, I guess. We stay open pretty late most nights because that is when the work finally gets quiet enough to focus.
