AKHILSAMADHAN WELFARE FOUNDATION

Our place is on the second floor of Shiv Market, taking up units 13, 14, and 15. We are right on the Budh Vihar Main Road in South Delhi. It’s a very active area, so there’s always the sound of traffic and people outside. Being in a market means we are surrounded by all sorts of shops. We focus on welfare work, which involves a lot of talking to folks from the neighborhood and sorting through paperwork. The office is spread across those three units, so we have a bit of room to move around, even if it’s mostly filled with old desks and filing cabinets. We aren't into anything fancy. The stairs up to the second floor are usually busy. We spend our mornings getting through the mail and seeing who needs help that day. It can get a bit hot in the afternoons, but we have a few fans going. People know us as the local welfare spot in Budh Vihar. We don't have any big signs or flashy lights. It’s just a place where things get done without a lot of fuss. Most of us have been around this area for a long time, so we know the local problems and try to help where we can. It’s a lot of listening and writing things down. We just keep at it, day after day, because that’s what needs to happen.
