A. B. Enterprise

Our place, A. B. Enterprise, is in Panagarh, which is under the Kanksa police station in the West Burdwan district. It’s a typical village setup where everyone knows everyone else. We handle a bit of everything that the local people might need for their daily work. The shop is located in a spot that’s easy for the villagers to reach. We don’t have a lot of fancy displays. Most things are just kept on wooden shelves or stacked in the corners. It can get quite hot in West Burdwan during the summer, so we have a couple of old fans running all day. We spend a lot of time talking to the farmers and the local builders who stop by. Panagarh is a nice place, though it gets a bit muddy during the monsoon season. We try to keep the shop floor clean, but it’s a losing battle sometimes. We’ve been here for several years now and have seen the area change slowly. We don't bother with big advertisements or anything like that. Word of mouth is how most people find us. Usually, one of us is sitting near the front with a newspaper when things are quiet. We take things as they come and don't stress too much if a delivery is late. It’s a relaxed way to run a business. We just want to make sure we have what people are looking for when they walk in. It's simple and it works for the community here.
