Au Systems Pvt. Ltd. is located in Anirban Apartment, near Ravindra Nagar in the Burdwan district. It’s a bit different being in an apartment building rather than a standard commercial block. It gives the whole place a bit of a homey feel, even though we are strictly here for business. The neighborhood is mostly residential, so things stay relatively calm compared to the city center. We are on one of the middle floors, and the walk up the stairs is part of our daily exercise. The office has a few rooms that have been converted into workspaces with desks and computers. We have a small balcony where some of us go to catch a bit of fresh air during the day. You can see the rooftops of Ravindra Nagar from there. The furniture is a mix of stuff we’ve picked up over time, nothing matches perfectly, but it’s all comfortable enough to sit in for eight hours. We get the local newspapers delivered every morning, and they usually sit on the small table by the entrance. It’s a quiet life here in Burdwan. We know the security guard at the gate and the people living in the other apartments. We just come in, do our technical work, and try to keep things running smoothly without making too much of a fuss. It’s just a regular group of people working out of a flat.
