Ma Bijasan Treta Fed Producer Company Limited

Our office is in Village Fatukra, which is just past the Khajuri post office here in Bundi. We usually meet at Soji Lal Harpal Meena’s house. It’s a quiet village, and everyone pretty much knows what everyone else is doing. We named the company after Ma Bijasan because she’s important to people around here. We aren't doing anything flashy. We’re just a group of farmers who got together to form this federation so we could have a bit more power when it comes to buying supplies. Farming in Fatukra has its ups and downs, especially with the way the water situation changes. Some years are great and others are a struggle, but that’s the life we chose. We spend a lot of our time just chatting about the soil and what the government is doing with the new rules. It’s not a corporate office with air conditioning; it’s just a room where we can sit down and be honest about the work. We don't have a mission statement or anything like that written on the wall. We just want to make sure that the hard work we put into the fields actually pays off. Most of us have been doing this since we were kids, so we know the land well. This company is just a tool to help us stay on our feet in a world that’s changing fast.
