Janta Adarsh Inter College Talbibiyana

Out here in Suratgarh Urf Lodhai, things move a bit slower than in the big cities. Janta Adarsh Inter College Talbibiyana has been around for some time, and it’s mostly just brick buildings and dusty courtyards. The road out here in Bulandshahr can be a bit rough after the rains, but the students still show up on their cycles or walking from the nearby farms. We have high ceilings in the classrooms to help with the heat, though it still gets pretty stuffy in June. Most of the furniture is old wood that’s been repaired a dozen times. We don’t have any fancy equipment, just the basic stuff for lessons and some old maps on the walls. The teachers usually sit under the trees during their breaks to get some air and talk. We spend a lot of time dealing with paperwork in the office, which always seems to have a layer of dust on it no matter how much we clean. It’s a quiet place for the most part, except when the students are changing classes and everyone is talking at once in the corridors. We see the same faces every day, and everyone knows everyone’s family. It’s a simple setup. We focus on getting through the syllabus and making sure the exams happen on time. It’s hard work, but it’s what we do. We just keep the doors open and try to get things done correctly for everyone.
