If you’re driving down the G T Road near Khurja, you’ll find us at Khasra numbers 522, 523, and 524. It’s a big piece of land right in Bulandshahr. Being on the main road means it can get a bit noisy with the trucks passing by, but we’ve gotten used to it over the years. The school is a public school that serves a lot of families from this part of town. The entrance is right there on the highway, and we have a big gate that we keep shut during class hours for safety. The classrooms are spread out across the property. It’s not a shiny new building, but it’s sturdy and has plenty of windows for light. We spend a lot of time just keeping the place running—fixing a leaky tap here or painting a wall there. The staff room is usually full of notebooks and tea cups. Most of us have been working here for years and we know the local parents quite well. They stop by to chat about their kids or to pay fees. It’s a very local atmosphere. We don't do things in a very formal way; it’s more about just getting the work done. The playground gets a lot of use, and the grass is a bit patchy in places because of all the running. We just focus on the daily schedule and making sure the kids stay busy with their books.
