If you walk down toward Chandpur Road in Bulandshahr, you’ll find us at 78, Hari Enclave Colony. It’s a bit of a mix here at the farm. Some days we are busy with the flowers and other days it is all about the agro side of things. The dirt gets under your fingernails no matter how many times you wash your hands. We grow what we can and try to keep the plants happy despite the Uttar Pradesh sun being so harsh sometimes. The colony is usually quiet, which is nice for the plants. My father started this and now I’m the one looking after the daily chores. We have a small shed where we keep the tools and seeds. It’s not very organized, if I’m honest. There are pots everywhere and some old tractor parts in the corner. We don’t really have a fancy office, just a wooden desk with too many papers on it. People stop by to ask for advice on their own gardens or to see what’s blooming this week. It is a lot of physical labor, bending over the rows and carrying water buckets when the pipes act up. We don’t use any of those big corporate systems. We just remember what needs doing and we do it. The seasons dictate our schedule more than any clock does. It is hard work but it feels right to be outside and working with the earth.
